Who I Am

Hey there, I’m Nathan Crosswell! A Canadian writer, iGaming analyst, and casino industry storyteller who spends a questionable amount of time digging through licence registries, reading payout policies, and testing online casinos so you don’t get burned by shady operators.

I grew up in a small town in Ontario, where winters are long, summers are short, and everyone knows everyone. Maybe that’s why honesty stuck with me — in small towns, your reputation is worth more than your paycheck.

Today I live in Toronto, sipping local roasted coffee, running casino tests at 2 a.m., and talking about gambling regulations like it’s a personality trait.

I believe in transparency, fairness, and Canadian players’ right to accurate information — no hidden agendas, no “sponsored reviews disguised as opinions,” and no pushing casinos I wouldn’t recommend to my own friends.

What I Do & Why It Matters

I create unbiased, in-depth reviews of online casinos, focusing on what actually matters to players:

  • fast and reliable payouts
  • legal status in Canada
  • safety and licensing
  • game fairness
  • customer support quality
  • bonus terms that don’t feel like a legal trap

My mission is simple:

Help Canadians find truly trustworthy, properly licensed casinos — not the sketchy ones chasing quick deposits.

Most casino sites online are written by people who have never even opened an account at the casinos they promote. I’m not one of them. I register, deposit, play, lose (often), win (sometimes), and test everything first-hand.

My Experience

I’ve been immersed in the gambling world for nearly two decades now. It started casually, turned into a hobby, and eventually became a full-time career I genuinely enjoy.

A mix of roles helped me get here:

  • Contributor for Better Collective — where I learned the hard truth about how compliance and licensing shape every casino site.
  • Reviewer & tester for CasinoGuru and AskGamblers — helping document real player issues, fraud cases, and payout disputes.
  • Freelance consultant for small iGaming brands — advising on transparency, responsible gambling, and review quality.
  • Graduate of the iGaming Academy – Introduction to iGaming course — foundational training that connected every missing piece.

I’ve also attended several gambling conferences across Canada and Europe, listening to operators, regulators, and industry folk debate everything from AML compliance to the future of KYC automation.

Areas of Expertise

1. Canadian Gambling Regulations

I track and analyze how online gambling is evolving province by province:

  • Ontario’s regulated market (iGaming Ontario & AGCO)
  • BC’s PlayNow model
  • Kahnawake’s licensing rules
  • the legal “grey zone” for offshore casinos

2. Licensing & Player Safety

If you’ve ever wondered why MGA casinos have fewer complaints than Curacao-licensed ones — I’m your guy.

3. Payments & Cashouts

I test:

  • Interac
  • Visa/Mastercard
  • MuchBetter
  • ecoPayz / eZeeWallet
  • crypto deposits
  • bank transfers

and document which casinos actually pay fast, and which ones stall withdrawals for days.

4. Casino Testing

Before recommending anything, I test:

  • registration & verification
  • bonus terms
  • payout speed
  • game fairness and RTP disclosure
  • customer support quality
  • real player reviews

5. Industry Trends

I follow:

  • AI in gambling
  • crypto casinos
  • new regulatory updates
  • emerging fraud patterns
  • problem gambling protections
